Gold(I)‐Catalyzed C(sp3)–C(sp) Cross‐Coupling: Access to Alkynylated Tetrahydrofuran Derivatives

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
An Au(I)‐catalyzed C(sp3)–C(sp) cross‐coupling, unsuccessful under photosensitized conditions for vinylgold(I) complexes, is achieved using MeDalPhosAuCl under thermal conditions, giving alkynylated tetrahydrofuran derivatives. The reaction proceeds via an Au(III) intermediate formed by oxidative addition of an alkynyl iodide.

Convergent Total Synthesis of 16β‐Hydroxylpseudobufarenogin

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 23, 1 June 2026.
We present a novel convergent strategy that integrates Pd/Ag‐promoted Suzuki–Miyaura coupling with Ir‐catalyzed radical‐relay cyclization, enabling the first total synthesis of 16β‐hydroxylpseudobufarenogin. This approach is broadly applicable to the total synthesis of various oxygenated bufadienolides by simply modifying the fragment structures ...

Substrate‐Controlled Organocatalytic Divergent Annulations of γ, γ’‐Alkylidene Indane‐1,3‐Diones With Enals

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
A substrate‐dependent, regio‐ and stereocontrolled diversity‐oriented organocatalytic vinylogous Michael addition/cyclization cascade of γ, γ’‐alkylidene indane‐1,3‐diones with enals, using secondary amines as the catalyst, has been developed. A substrate‐dependent, regio‐ and stereo‐controlled diversity‐oriented organocatalytic vinylogous Michael ...

Structural Insights Into Man9 Recognition by the HIV Antibody 2G12 Revealed by Paramagnetic NMR

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
The HIV gp120 glycoprotein displays Man9 oligomannose structures that are recognized by the neutralizing antibody 2G12. Detailed characterization of the binding epitope in solution is important for immunogen design but remains challenging, since the signals of the terminal mannoses from the three arms of Man9 (D1, D2, and D3) cannot be distinguished in
