Molybdooxaziridine Catalysis: Synthesis of α‐Hydroxysulfones From Styrenes Through an ATRA Process

This work has discovered that molybdooxaziridine catalysts promote the hydroxysulfonation of substituted α‐methyl‐styrenes using N‐Ts‐hydroxylamine as the nitrogen source. An atom‐transfer‐radical‐addition mechanism involving the stepwise addition of Ts and hydroxy radicals takes place.
