Steroidal saponins from Tribulus terrestris

Steroids, 2009
Five new steroidal saponins were isolated from the fruits of Tribulus terrestris. Their structures were fully established by spectroscopic and chemical analysis as (23S,25S)-5alpha-spirostane-24-one-3beta,23-diol-3-O-{alpha-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->2)-O-[beta-d-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)]-beta-d-galactopyranoside} (1), (24S,25S)-5alpha-spirostane-3beta,24 ...

Steroidal saponins from Asparagus acutifolius

Phytochemistry, 2007
Six new steroidal saponins (1-6) were isolated from the roots of A. acutifolius L., together with a known spirostanol glycoside (7). Their structures were elucidated mainly by extensive spectroscopic analysis (1D and 2D NMR, FABMS and HRESIMS). Compounds 4-7 demonstrated antifungal activity against the human pathogenic yeasts C. albicans, C.

Steroidal saponins from Datura metel

Steroids, 2017
Datura metel L. (Solanaceae) is an annual herb that has been widely used in the traditional medicine for the treatment of coughs, bronchial asthma, and rheumatism. Chemical investigation of an acidic methanol extract of the whole plants of D. metel resulted in the isolation of five new steroidal saponins (1-3, 5, and 6), named metelosides A-E, and four

Qualitative and quantitative determination of steroidal saponins in Trillium govanianum by UHPLC-QTOF-MS/MS and UHPLC-ELSD.

Phytochemical Analysis, 2020
INTRODUCTION Trillium govanianum (Nag Chhatri and Teen Patra) is traditionally used for curing joint pains, wounds, and sexual disorders. Steroidal saponins are the main active components of this species.

Steroid saponins from Polygonatum kingianum

Phytochemistry, 1992
Four new steroid saponins, kingianosides A-D, were isolated from the rhizome of Polygonatum kingianum, together with two known steroid saponins. On the basis of chemical and spectral evidence, the structures of kingianosides A-D were established as gentrogenin 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1-->4)-beta-D-galactopyranoside, gentrogenin 3-O-beta-D ...

Steroidal saponins from Asparagus dumosus

Phytochemistry, 1999
A new steroidal saponin, dumoside, characterized as (20S)-3 beta, 16 beta-dihydroxy pregn-5-ene-22-carboxylic acid (22, 16)-lactone-3-O-beta-chacotrioside, was isolated from the whole plant of Asparagus dumosus Baker and the structure was deduced from spectral data. In addition to dumoside three more steroidal saponins characterized as 3 beta-dihydroxy

Steroidal saponins from Tribulus terrestris

Phytochemistry, 2014
Sixteen steroidal saponins, including seven previously unreported compounds, were isolated from Tribulus terrestris. The structures of the saponins were established using 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and chemical methods. They were identified as: 26-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(25R)-furost-4-en-2α,3β,22α,26-tetrol-12-one (terrestrinin C), 26-

Steroidal saponins from Smilax officinalis

Phytochemistry, 1996
Three new steroidal saponins were isolated from the rhizomes of Smilax officinalis. The structures of these saponins were established by extensive spectral data, hydrolysis and chemical correlation as sarsasapogenin 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)-[alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1-->6 )-beta- D-glucopyranoside, neotigogenin 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 ...

Steroidal saponins from Sansevieria trifasciata

Phytochemistry, 1996
The methanol extract of the whole plant of Sansevieria trifasciata has yielded 12 steroidal saponins, 10 of which are new constituents. The respective structures of the new compounds have been shown by the spectroscopic evidence, and alkaline- and acid-catalysed degradation.
