Multifaceted roles of STIM proteins [PDF]
Stromal interaction molecules (STIM1 and STIM2) are critical components of store-operated calcium entry. Sensing depletion of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) Ca(2+) stores, STIM couples with plasma membrane Orai channels, resulting in the influx of Ca(2+) across the PM into the cytosol.

Multi-mode imaging of STIM/Orai relocalization. [PDF]
Images in each panel show EGFP-tagged Orai visualized by shadowless TIRF excitation at 488 nm (top left); mCherry-tagged STIM visualized by TIRF excitation at 532 nm (top right); mCherry-tagged STIM visualized by skimming- plane (SP) excitation at 532 nm

Elevated serum levels of checkpoint molecules in patients with adult Still’s disease
Background The interaction between galectin-9 (Gal-9) and its ligand, T cell immunoglobulin, and mucin-containing-molecule-3 (TIM-3), one of the coinhibitory receptors, transduce the inhibitory signaling to regulate immune responses.

Unlocking SOAR releases STIM [PDF]
A crucial component of the receptor-evoked Ca(2+) signal is Ca(2+) influx mediated by the store-operated Ca(2+) channels (SOCs). The molecular makeup of one SOC is the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) Ca(2+) sensor STIM1 and the pore-forming Orai1. Ca(2+) release from the ER leads to co-clustering of STIM1 and Orai1 to activate Orai1.

The STIM/Orai coupling machinery [PDF]
Calcium (Ca(2+)) entry into non-excitable cells is mainly carried by store-operated channels (SOCs), which serve essential functions ranging from regulation of transcription to cell growth. The best-characterized store-operated current, I(CRAC), is the calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) current initially discovered in T-lymphocytes and mast cells.
