Proposition of a hybrid stochastic Lee-Carter mortality model
In the paper, a stochastic hybrid mortality model (EHLC) treated as a solution of stochastic differential equations is introduced. The model is defined analogously to the well-known Lee-Carter mortality model (LC). A parameter estimation procedure including a switching rule are proposed. A comparison of the predictive accuracy of the LC and EHLC models

Integrated clinical and mechanistic analyses identify GALNT7 as a ferroptosis‐suppressive regulator associated with immunotherapy resistance in non‐small cell lung cancer. GALNT7 depletion promotes lipid peroxidation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and ferroptosis, enhances CD8+ T‐cell activation and IFN‐γ production, and sensitizes tumors to PD‐1 blockade,

The benefits of mammography screening have been controversial, with conflicting findings from various studies. We hypothesize that unmeasured heterogeneity in tumor aggressiveness underlies these conflicting results.

An Estimable Dynamic Stochastic Model of Fertility and Child Mortality [PDF]
This paper develops a finite-horizon dynamic stochastic model of discrete choice with respect to life-cycle fertility within an environment where infant survival is uncertain. The model yields implications for the number, timing, and spacing of children. A tractable estimation method is developed for the linear constraint-quadratic utility case that is

This study introduces a biomimetic “nanofusion” platform that integrates the biostability of threose nucleic acids (TNA) with homotypic cell‐membrane cloaking to combat drug‐resistant TNBC. By leveraging a non‐canonical membrane‐fusion pathway for direct cytosolic delivery, the platform bypasses endosomal sequestration. To achieve potent AKT2 silencing

ABSTRACT This study sets out to investigate the prospects for raising oil palm output in sub‐Saharan Africa, particularly Ghana, without further expansion of cropland. Given global concerns about oil palm's role in deforestation and land use change, the focus is on enhancing productivity on existing farmlands.

Threshold‐optimized machine learning models using routine clinical and laboratory data in 623 adults undergoing appendectomy. Logistic regression (AUC = 0.765) and random forest (AUC = 0.785) were the best‐performing models for appendicitis detection and complicated appendicitis prediction, respectively.

A Hybrid Transfer Learning Framework for Brain Tumor Diagnosis
A novel hybrid transfer learning approach for brain tumor classification achieves 99.47% accuracy using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images. By combining image preprocessing, ensemble deep learning, and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques like gradient‐weighted class activation mapping and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), the ...

A Novel Modification of the Cairns–Blake–Dowd Model: Consideration for Retirement Cohort Trends
The study introduces an incremental extension of the Cairns–Blake–Dowd (CBD) 2006 stochastic mortality model by adding a retirement cohort effect to enhance the applicability and prediction ability for actuarial purposes.

Accounting for animal health in efficiency analysis: An application to Swedish dairy farms
Abstract Poor animal health is a central concern in modern livestock production. Despite the necessity to incorporate animal health in efficiency analysis, the theoretical and empirical developments are limited on this subject. This article appropriately characterizes the axiomatic properties of animal health within a production framework.
