Background and purpose: Patients with head and neck (HN) cancer may benefit from proton therapy due to the potential for sparing of normal tissue. For planning of proton therapy, dual-energy CT (DECT) has been shown to provide superior stopping power ...

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Stopping sets: Gamma-type results and hitting properties [PDF]
Recently in the paper [6] there was established the following Gamma-type result. Given the number N of a homogeneous Poisson process' points defining a random figure, its volume is \Gamma(N; ) distributed, where is the intensity of the process.

Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding-Mode Control of Wheel Slide Protection Device for ER24PC Locomotive
Wheel Slide Protection Devices (WSPD) are employed in railway vehicles to maximize the average of the possible frictional braking force, which is a nonlinear function of the slip ratio of the wheel sets.

Stopping set elimination by parity-check matrix extension via integer linear programming [PDF]
Error-rate floor phenomenon is known to be a serious impediment to the use of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes for some practical applications that demand high data reliability.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

The Manifestation of Stopping Sets and Absorbing Sets as Deviations on the Computation Trees of LDPC Codes [PDF]
The error mechanisms of iterative message-passing decoders for low-density parity-check codes are studied. A tutorial review is given of the various graphical structures, including trapping sets, stopping sets, and absorbing sets that are frequently used

Stopping for two-dimensional stochastic processes [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to introduce some techniques that can be used in the study of stochastic processes which have as parameter set the positive quadrant of the plane R2+.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
