Viruses are the most abundant and diverse biological entities on the planet and constitute a significant proportion of Earth’s genetic diversity. Most of this diversity is not represented by isolated viral-host systems and has only been observed through ...

DNA dynamics and computation based on toehold-free strand displacement
Synthetic DNA constructs can to used to recognise and respond to input signals. Here the authors present complex DNA nanostructures with toehold-free strand displacement for generation of ON/OFF switches and Boolean gates.

Controlled Release in Hydrogels Using DNA Nanotechnology
Gelatin is a biopolymer widely used to synthesize hydrogels for biomedical applications, such as tissue engineering and bioinks for 3D bioprinting. However, as with other biopolymer-based hydrogels, gelatin-hydrogels do not allow precise temporal control

Construction of Multiple Logic Circuits Based on Allosteric DNAzymes
In DNA computing, the implementation of complex and stable logic operations in a universal system is a critical challenge. It is necessary to develop a system with complex logic functions based on a simple mechanism.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Design of DNA strand displacement reactions
DNA strand displacement (SD) reactions are central to the operation of many synthetic nucleic acid systems, including molecular circuits, sensors, and machines. Over the years, a broad set of design frameworks has emerged to accommodate various functional goals, initial configurations, and environmental conditions. Nevertheless, key challenges persist,
