Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Validation and network structure of the strengths use scale for Chinese adolescents (SUS-Teen) with panel data

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adolescence and Youth
Efforts have been made to understand strengths use in adults; however, tools and its structure studies for adolescents are lacking. This study aimed to validate the psychometric properties and network structure of the Chinese Strengths Use Scale ...

Mobile Robot Localization using WLAN Signal Strengths

open access: yes2007 4th IEEE Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications, 2007
Many buildings are already equipped with a WLAN infrastructure, as an inexpensive communication technology. In this paper two methods that estimate the position and the heading (pose) of a mobile robot using WLAN technology are described. The proposed techniques for localizing a mobile robot are based on the use of received signal strength values of ...

Investigating the impact of a combined approach of perceived organisational support for strengths use and deficit correction on employee outcomes

open access: yesSA Journal of Human Resource Management, 2018
Orientation: The positive psychology paradigm suggests a balanced focus on employee strengths and deficits. However, an overemphasis on strengths has raised questions regarding the value of a focus on strengths use, deficit improvement or a combined ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Modulus, strength and thermal exposure studies of FP-Al2O3/aluminum and FP-Al2O3/magnesium composites [PDF]

open access: yes
The mechanical properties of FP-Al2O3 fiber reinforced composites prepared by liquid infiltration techniques are improved. A strengthening addition, magnesium, was incorporated with the aluminum-lithium matrix alloy usually selected for these composites ...

Tropical starches from South-East Asia (2): Evaluation of noodles mechanical properties in relation with gel exture and stability under refrigerated and frozen conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Several starch-producing plants are grown in South-East Asia, from which starch is extracted at small scale for local use. This study undertakes to identify properties specific to some of these starches in model food systems, in order to demonstrate ...
