The case for trypsin release of affinity-selected phages

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2010
Libraries of phages displaying diverse peptides are typically surveyed by affinity selection, using immobilized biomolecules as selectors. After exposing the library to the selector and washing away unbound phages, the bound phages are enriched for ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

The use of streptavidin conjugates as immunoblot loading controls and mitochondrial markers for use with Dictyostelium discoideum

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2013
The loading controls used for quantitative immunoblotting of mammalian proteins are not appropriate for use with Dictyostelium discoideum. Actin levels, for example, change greatly during Dictyostelium development.

Development of the Method to Produce Functionally Active Recombinant Streptavidin in Escherichia coli Cells [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал Сибирского федерального университета: Серия Биология, 2020
Streptavidin is a homotetrameric protein produced by Streptomyces avidinii, each subunit of which binds biotin (vitamin H), forming a stable complex (Kd = 10-15 М).

Selective targeting of proteins by hybrid polyoxometalates: Interaction between a bis-biotinylated hybrid conjugate and avidin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Keggin-type polyoxometalate [\u3b3-SiW10O36]8 12 was covalently modified to obtain a bis-biotinylated conjugate able to bind avidin. Spectroscopic studies such as UV-vis, fluorimetry, circular dichroism, coupled to surface plasmon resonance technique

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Detection of protein-protein interactions using nonimmune IgG and BirA-mediated biotinylation

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2010
Detection of protein-protein interactions in cells is crucial for understanding the biological functions of proteins, including their roles in signal transduction.

Giant Magnetoresistive Biosensors for Time-Domain Magnetorelaxometry: A Theoretical Investigation and Progress Toward an Immunoassay. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Magnetorelaxometry (MRX) is a promising new biosensing technique for point-of-care diagnostics. Historically, magnetic sensors have been primarily used to monitor the stray field of magnetic nanoparticles bound to analytes of interest for immunoassays ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Therapeutic Applications of Pretargeting

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
Targeted therapies, such as radioimmunotherapy (RIT), present a promising treatment option for the eradication of tumor lesions. RIT has shown promising results especially for hematologic malignancies, but the therapeutic efficacy is limited by ...
