The effect of residual stresses on the strain evolution during welding of thin-walled tubes [PDF]
In many applications, negative effects of residual stresses in the material stemming from the production process, are regularly encountered. These residual stresses in cold-rolled steel tubes are mainly due to two mechanisms: (i) the rolling of the flat ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Early Warning Model of Pipeline Stress State Based on Axial Stress Monitoring Data
To manage the stress state of the pipeline in real time and take timely targeted measures, stress monitoring measures are usually taken for pipelines that are prone to displacement deformation.

Experimental Study on Thermal Expansion Behavior of Concrete under Three-Dimensional Stress
Concrete is widely used in underground engineering and bears three-dimensional stress transmitted by overlying load. When a fire occurs, the thermal expansion of concrete structure under such stress state is different from that under stress-free state ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Influence of discontinuities on the rock mass stress-strain state around excavation [PDF]
Adequate mathematical modeling of selvage zone and natural fracturing as well as assessment of its impact on stress-strain state – urgent problems in calculation of hydraulic tunnels.

Stress-strain state of elastomeric vibroseismic insulators
Abstract A method for solving problems of viscoelastic deformation of structures made of weakly-compressible elastomers, based on the application of the hereditary Boltzmann-Volterra theory, is considered. To consider the weak compressibility and eliminate the “false shift” effect, the moment scheme of the finite element is used.

Plasticity-Induced Anisotropy in Amorphous Solids: the Bauschinger Effect
Amorphous solids that underwent a strain in one direction such that they responded in a plastic manner `remember' that direction also when relaxed back to a state with zero mean stress.

The influence of consolidation on shear test results [PDF]
Measurements of the yield behaviour of a cohesive bulk solid in the Jenike shear tester are normally done in two steps. First, pre-shearing to a steady state yielding, and secondly, shearing under a lower normal stress to establish the shear stress at ...

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.
