Stress Concentration Factors From Overlapping Stress Fields in Uniaxial Tension [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Standard transmission photoelastic techniques were used to determine the resultant stress concentration factors produced by multiple stress raisers in flat, rectangular bars under uniaxial tension.

Study on Mechanical Response and Stress Environment Characteristics of Rock Mass with Through-Going Discontinuities

open access: yesApplied Sciences
As large-scale continuous geological weak planes widely developed in deep mines, through-going discontinuities have a significant impact on the distribution of deep rock mass stress fields and the deformation and failure modes of surrounding rock and are

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Finite Element Analysis and Optimization of Internal Support Structure in Constant Temperature Reactor

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2016
Radial constant temperature reactor usually has a double shell structure, and the inner shell is usually supported by stainless steel supporting ring. The safety and reliability of the inner support is very important for the safe operation of constant ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Analysis of Composite Material and Composite Joint [PDF]

open access: yesفناوری در مهندسی هوافضا, 2018
A composite is commonly defined as a combination of two or more distinct materials, to create a new material with properties that cannot be achieved by any of the components acting alone. The growing use of composites for structural applications has made
