Background independence of closed superstring field theory
Given a family of world-sheet superconformal field theories related by marginal deformation, we can formulate superstring field theory based on any of these world-sheet theories.

Asymptotic scalar field cosmology in string theory
Asymptotic (late-time) cosmology depends on the asymptotic (infinite-distance) limits of scalar field space in string theory. Such limits feature an exponentially decaying potential V ~ exp(−cϕ) with corresponding Hubble scale H ~ ϕ ̇ 2 + 2 V $$ \sqrt ...

Observables of String Field Theory [PDF]
We study gauge invariant operators of open string field theory and find a precise correspondence with on-shell closed strings. We provide a detailed proof of the gauge invariance of the operators and a heuristic interpretation of their correlation functions in terms of on-shell scattering amplitudes of closed strings.

SYM Description of PP-wave String Interactions: Singlet Sector and Arbitrary Impurities [PDF]
We study string interactions among string states with arbitrary impurities in the Type IIB plane wave background using string field theory. We reproduce all string amplitudes from gauge theory by computing matrix elements of the dilatation operator in a ...

String field theory as world-sheet UV regulator
Even at tree level, the first quantized string theory suffers from apparent short distance singularities associated with collision of vertex operators that prevent us from straightforward numerical computation of various quantities.

Strings and Unified Field Theories [PDF]
It is argued that string theory predicts unified field theory rather than general relativity coupled to matter fields. In unified field theory all the objects are geometrical, for strings the Kalb-Ramond matter field is identical to the asymmetric part of the metric except that the fields contribute to different sides of the field equations.

Abstract We present an account of string field theory which aims to introduce the reader to the important concepts of the subjects as well as to aid access to the literature. Light cone string theory is briefly reviewed, but the emphasis is on the covariant approach exploiting world sheet BRST invariance to define string field derivations ...

SO(32) Spinors of Type I and Other Solitons on Brane-Antibrane Pair [PDF]
We construct the SO(32) spinor state in weakly coupled type I string theory as a kink solution of the tachyon field on the D-string - anti-D-string pair and calculate its mass.

INTERPOLATING STRING FIELD THEORIES [PDF]
A minimal area problem imposing different length conditions on open and closed curves is shown to define a one-parameter family of covariant open-closed quantum string field theories. These interpolate from a recently proposed factorizable open-closed theory up to an extended version of Witten’s open string field theory capable of incorporating on ...

Closed string deformations in open string field theory. Part II. Superstring
This is the second paper of a series of three. We construct effective open-closed superstring couplings by classically integrating out massive fields from open superstring field theories coupled to an elementary gauge invariant tadpole proportional to an
