LCP Ultra-Wideband Self-Packaged Microstrip to Stripline Transition with Multilayer Balun Demonstration

open access: yes, 2018
An Ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip to stripline transition using liquid crystal polymer (LCP) technology for multilayer circuits with self-packaging feature is presented in this paper. The proposed design is light in weight, cost effective and remarkably

Multilayered dielectric stripline

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1992
AbstractThe effective dielectric constant and the characteristic impedance of a stripline filled with a number of dielectrics has been investigated. Their dependence on some of the geometric parameters is presented. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Analysis of Stripline Filled with a Multilayered Dielectric Medium

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1987
An analysis has been carried out using conformal transformation for the case of a symmetric stripline filled with multilayered discrete dielectric media with their interfaces parallel to the ground planes. This has been applied to a stripline structure filled with a medium having a relative dielectric constant which is continuously varying in a ...

Propagation Characteristics of Striplines with Multilayered Anisotropic Media

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1983
Various types of striplines with anisotropic media are analyzed. The analytical approach used in this paper is based on the network analytical method of electromagnetic fields, and the formulation process is straightforward for complicated structures.

Low frequency leaky regime in covered multilayered striplines

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1996
This work studies the low frequency leakage of power in covered multilayered striplines including the possibility of several conductors on different interfaces. The appearance and features of the lateral radiation is discussed, assuming that only one parallel-plate waveguide mode is above cutoff.

Analysis of coupled cylindrical striplines filled with multilayered dielectrics

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1988
A method of analysis for coupled cylindrical striplines filled with multilayered dielectrics is presented that uses a variational technique in the space domain. Coupled-mode analysis is presented for the case of a pair of coupled circular arc strips arbitrarily located between cylindrical ground planes filled with multilayered dielectrics.

Basic Parameters of Asymmetrical Coplanar Striplines with Multilayer Substrates and Overlays

International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1999
In this paper, asymmetrical coplanar striplines (ACPS) with multilayer substrates and overlays are analyzed using conformal mapping method. Analytic closed-form expressions for the basic parameters are obtained. The analyses are useful for monolithic microwave integrated circuits and integrated optical application.

Closed-form dispersion and loss models for multilayer coplanar striplines

2016 IEEE 5th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2016
In this paper, we present the closed-form models of conductor thickness dependent dispersive line parameters and losses, of multilayer coplanar stripline (CPS) on isotropic dielectric substrates. The dispersive empirical expressions for the single-layer CPS from literature are improved to include the finite conductivity and finite conductor thickness ...

Generalized interdigital filters made of multilayer striplines

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 1978
AbstractIn the first part of this paper is presented a relatively simple loss analysis method for many coupled line structures. The corresponding equivalent circuit consists of uncoupled lossy transmission lines whose parameters are determined relatively easily without a complex numerical field analysis by using fringing‐capacitance curves for ...

Full-wave analysis of single cylindrical striplines and microstriplines with multilayer dielectrics

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2006
In this paper, the spectral-domain method is used to calculate the propagation characteristics of cylindrical microstrip transmission lines. The problem is formulated using an electric field integral equation and the spectral-domain Green's function. The solutions of the field components are obtained in matrix forms, which facilitate the calculations ...
