Stromal cell–derived factor 1 promotes angiogenesis via a heme oxygenase 1–dependent mechanism [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 2007
Stromal cell–derived factor 1 (SDF-1) plays a major role in the migration, recruitment, and retention of endothelial progenitor cells to sites of ischemic injury and contributes to neovascularization. We provide direct evidence demonstrating an important role for heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) in mediating the proangiogenic effects of SDF-1.

Stromal cell-derived factor-1/CXC chemokine receptor 4 axis in injury repair and renal transplantation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research, 2019
Stem cell therapy has shown promise in treating a variety of pathologies, such as myocardial infarction, ischaemic stroke and organ transplantation. The stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1)/CXC chemokine receptor-4 (CXCR4) axis plays a key role in stem ...

The study of targeted blocking SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathway with three antagonists on MMPs, type II collagen, and aggrecan levels in articular cartilage of guinea pigs

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2020
Objective To explore the possibility and mechanism of targeted blocking SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathway using three antagonists TN14003, T140, and AMD3100 in vivo, and to investigate the function of three antagonists in delay degeneration process of ...

Low-energy shock wave for enhancing recruitment of endothelial progenitor cells: a new modality to increase efficacy of cell therapy in chronic hind limb ischemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Background— Stem and progenitor cell therapy is a novel approach to improve neovascularization and function of ischemic tissue. Enhanced tissue expression of chemoattractant factors such as stromal cell–derived factor 1 and vascular endothelial growth ...

SDF-1 and PDGF enhance [alpha]v[beta]5-mediated ERK activation and adhesion-independent growth of human pre-B cell lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
CD23 acts through the [alpha]v[beta]5 integrin to promote growth of human pre-B cell lines in an adhesion-independent manner. [alpha]v[beta]5 is expressed on normal B-cell precursors in the bone marrow.

Peptide and peptidomimetic ligands for CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The development of novel peptide and peptidomimetic ligands for the CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) as therapeutic agents for HIV-1 infection, cancer, and immune system diseases has grown over the last decade.

Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 Promotes Cell Migration, Tumor Growth of Colorectal Metastasis

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2007
In a mouse model of established extrahepatic colorectal metastasis, we analyzed whether stromal cellderived factor (SDF) 1 stimulates tumor cell migration in vitro, angiogenesis, tumor growth in vivo.

Prognostic significance of TRAIL-R3 and CCR-2 expression in tumor epithelial cells of patients with early breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Tumor epithelial cells (TEpCs) and spindle-shaped stromal cells, not associated with the vasculature, of patients with early breast cancer express osteoprotegerin (OPG), tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL), receptor activator ...

Stromal Cell-Derived Factor 1 Mediates Immune Cell Attraction upon Urinary Tract Infection

open access: yesCell Reports, 2017
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most common type of bacterial infection in humans. Fifty percent of all women will experience at least one UTI in their lifetime, with uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) accounting for 80% of reported cases.
