Identification and structural elucidation of ozonation transformation products of estrone
Quantitative methods for the analysis of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) are abundant in the scientific literature. However, there are few reports on systematic methods of identification and structural identification of transformation products ...

Cytotoxic Terpenoids from the Roots of Dracocephalum taliense
A chemical investigation of methanol extract from the roots of Dracocephalum taliense led to the isolation of a new aromatic abietane diterpenoid, 12-methoxy-18-hydroxy-sugiol (1), and one highly-oxygenated ursane triterpenoid, 2α,3α-dihydroxy-11α,12α ...

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Structural elucidation and quantification of novel toxins in marine microalgae by NMR- and molecular modelling-based techniques [PDF]
Marine biotoxins produced by dinoflagellates exhibit a remarkable structural diversity. During the course of this thesis, I present the elucidation of six novel compounds in total, two for each of the toxin groups of azaspiracids, gymnodimines, and ...

Multiscale Structural Elucidation of Peptide Nanotubes by X-Ray Scattering Methods
This mini-review presents the structural investigations of the self-assembled peptide nanotubes using X-ray scattering techniques. As compared to electron microscopy, scattering methods enable studies of nanotubes in solution under the appropriate ...

Synthesis, Structural Confirmation, and Biosynthesis of 22-OH-PD1n-3 DPA
PD1n-3 DPA belongs to the protectin family of specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators. The protectins are endogenously formed mediators that display potent anti-inflammatory properties and pro-resolving bioactivities and have attracted interest in drug

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Universal Fragmentation Model for Tandem Mass Spectrometry Based Molecular Structural Elucidation
Tandem mass spectrometry based structural elucidation is currently hampered by our limited understanding of fragmentation chemistry. Here we present the Universal Fragmentation Model (UFM) that is based on gas-phase ion chemistry and modelling and is ...
