Identification and structural characterisation of a partially arabinosylated lipoarabinomannan variant isolated from a Corynebacterium glutamicum ubiAmutant [PDF]
Arabinan polysaccharide side-chains are present in both Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Corynebacterium glutamicum in the heteropolysaccharide arabinogalactan (AG), and in M. tuberculosis in the lipoglycan, lipoarabinomannan (LAM).

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Unveiling genomic rearrangements in engineered iPSC lines by optical genome mapping
We demonstrate here the use of optical genome mapping (OGM) to detect genetic alterations arising from gene editing by various technologies in human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

Variable phenotype in HNF1B mutations: extrarenal manifestations distinguish affected individuals from the population with congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract [PDF]
Background: Mutations in hepatocyte nuclear factor 1B (HNF1B) have been associated with congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT) in humans. Diabetes and other less frequent anomalies have also been described.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

On finite automata with a time-variant structure
Basic theory of finite automata whose state transitions and outputs depend on time is developed. A necessary and sufficient condition for a language to be accepted by such an automaton is established. Interrelations between various types of time-variant automata, including nondeterministic ones, are studied.

Toolkit for automated and rapid discovery of structural variants [PDF]
Structural variations (SV) are broadly defined as genomic alterations that affect >50bp of DNA, which are shown to have significant effect on evolution and disease. The advent of high throughput sequencing (HTS) technologies and the ability to perform whole genome sequencing (WGS), makes it feasible to study these variants in depth.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
