ENHANCEMENT OF SOLID STATE FERMENTATION FOR PRODUCTION OF PENICILLIN G ON SUGAR BEET PULP

open access: yesBioResources, 2010
In this study, two local strains of Penicillium chrysogenum named EGEK458 and EGEK469 were selected for enhancement of Penicillin G (PenG) production under solid state fermentation (SSF) conditions.

Submerged Citric Acid Fermentation of Blackstrap Molasses

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1964
Isolation and screening tests were carried out in order to find microorganisms which were able to produce citric acid directly from blackstrap molasses. Some strains were obtained which accumulate considerable quantities of citric acid. Certain temperature changes during the course of incubation were found to increase the yield of citric acid. The ...

Crystallization of Cathode Active Material Precursors from Tartaric Acid Solution

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
This work investigates a novel approach for closing the gap between recycling and production of lithium‐ion battery cathode material. The new concept is based on antisolvent crystallization of metal carboxylates, which can be directly used as precursors in production of cathode material.

Acoustic‐driven surface cleaning with millimeter‐sized bubbles at translational resonance

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
Time‐lapse visualization comparing bubble trajectories. The top panel (0 Hz) shows a bubble's linear path under no acoustic forcing, while the bottom panel (50 Hz) demonstrates the oscillatory motion induced by acoustic waves at a resonance mode. This mechanism holds promising potential for applications such as surface cleaning.

Nutraceutical Evaluation of Biscuits Formulated From Acha, Chia, and Soycake Flours on Glycemic Control, Lipid Profile, and Histopathological Effects in High‐Fat Diet/Streptozotocin‐Induced Type 2 Diabetic Rats

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Acha–chia–soycake biscuits improved glucose tolerance, lipid profile, insulin levels, and pancreatic integrity in HFD–STZ diabetic rats. ACSB1 and ACSB13 outperformed acarbose, showing potent antihyperglycemic, hypolipidemic, and pancreatic‐protective effects.

Fabrication of electrospun PVDF nanofibrous membrane for filtration of coconut inflorescence sap

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Electrospinning conditions for polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) nanofibrous membrane were optimized. The polymer solution's properties were analyzed. The developed membranes' average pore size was 478–543 nm. A fabricated membrane was used for the filtration of coconut inflorescence sap.

Lipase production from Bacillus subtilis with submerged fermentation using waste cooking oil

open access: yes, 2018
Bacterial lipase has been developed lately because of its advantage to produce with large scale. Culture of Bacillus subtilis was grown to produce lipase in Waste Cooking Oil (WCO) using submerged fermentation (SmF) method.
