A Multithreaded Communication Substrate for OpenSHMEM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
OpenSHMEM scalability is strongly dependent on the capability of its communication layer to efficiently handle multiple threads. In this paper, we present an early evaluation of the thread safety specification in the Unified Common Communication ...

Proven power cycling reliability of SmartSiC(TM) substrate for power devices

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceThe Smart Cu(TM) technology enables the integration of a high-quality SiC layer transfer for device yield optimization, combined with a low-resistivity handle wafer (below 5mOhm.cm) to lower device conduction and switching losses ...

Substrate specificity of Ty1 integrase [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 1995
Integration of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae retrotransposon Ty1 requires the element-encoded integrase (IN) protein, which is a component of cytoplasmic virus-like particles (VLPs). Using purified recombinant Ty1 IN and an oligonucleotide integration assay based on Ty1 long terminal repeat sequences, we have compared IN activity on substrates having ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

PIEZO1-Mediated Currents Are Modulated by Substrate Mechanics

open access: yes, 2019
PIEZO1 is a bona fide mammalian mechanically activated channel that has recently been shown to provide instructive cues during neuronal specification, texture sensing, and cell migration where mechanical inputs arise at the interface between the cells ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

The Substrate and Anomeric Specificity of Fructokinase

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1973
Abstract Fructokinase from beef liver is shown to be specific for the β-furanose anomer of d-fructose (and the α anomer of l-sorbose) by showing that certain 2,5-anhydroalditols are substrates, while other 2,5-anhydro compounds, 2,6-anhydro-d-mannitol, and 2,6-anhydro-d-glucitol are not.
