The evolution of dark matter substructure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This thesis investigates the dynamical evolution of systems orbiting within deeper potentials. Initially we use a simple satellite-halo interaction to study the dynamical processes that act on orbiting systems and we compare these results to analytical ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

UNIVERSAL SOFTWARE SYSTEM “STADYO” FOR THE NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF LINEAR AND NONLINEAR PROBLEMS OF THE FIELD THEORY, STATICS, STABILITY AND DYNAMICS OF SPATIAL COMBINED SYSTEMS: GENERAL PARAMETERS AND SUPERELEMENTAL FEATURES

open access: yesInternational Journal for Computational Civil and Structural Engineering, 2018
The distinctive paper presents the general papers of the science-based universal software system “STADYO” intended for the numerical solution of stationary and nonstationary problems of field theory, analy-sis of static, temperature and dynamic stress ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

The Imidato-Alkenyllithium Route for the Synthesis of the Isoquinocycline-Pyrrolopyrrole Substructure

open access: yes, 2016
A convergent and effective synthesis of the pyrrolopyrrole substructure (CDEFG) of the isoquinocyclines is reported. A key step is a tin−lithium exchange of an imidato-alkenyltin compound (a ring G equivalent) and the subsequent acylation with a lactone.

Substructure synthesis method with trial eigenvectors

open access: yes, 2010
[[abstract]]A new substructure synthesis method which uses a set of trial frequencies and Gaussian elimination to find the base vectors is introduced. The new method avoids the problem of solving the eigenvectors of each substructure.

Application of Frequency Domain Substructure Synthesis Technique for Plates Loaded with Complex Attachments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Frequency domain substructure synthesis is a modeling technique that enables the prediction of a combined response of individual structures using experimentally measured or numerically predicted frequency response functions (FRFs).

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

4-(1H-Tetrazol-5-yl)-2-(p-tolyl)quinoline

open access: yesMolbank
The synthesis of 4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-2-(p-tolyl)quinoline 4 as a possible modification of the biphenyltetrazole substructure of losartan 1 is described.
