Component Mode Synthesis Using Undeformed Interface Coupling Modes to Connect Soft and Stiff Substructures

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2013
Classical component mode synthesis methods for reduction are usually limited by the size and compatibility of the coupling interfaces. A component mode synthesis approach with constrained coupling interfaces is presented for vibro-acoustic modelling. The

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Identification of the Dynamic Properties of Linear Joints Using Substructure Synthesis Method

open access: yes, 2010
In this thesis, a new identification method for joint stiffness and damping has been developed by using the substructure synthesis method and finite element modeling. The substructure synthesis method is stated firstly, according to the substructures are

Synthesis of (–)-Kopsifoline A and (+)-Kopsifoline E

open access: yes, 2021
We report the first total synthesis of (–)-kopsifoline A and (+)-kopsifoline E. Our synthetic strategy features a biogenetically inspired regioselective C17-functionalization of a versatile intermediate containing the pentacyclic core of aspidosperma ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

High-pressure synthesis, mechanical properties, and magnetic behavior of chromium diboride

open access: yesAIP Advances
Despite persistent synthetic challenges in realizing borophene, transition metal diborides, characterized by honeycomb borophene substructure and weak interlayer coupling, are attracting growing interest as potentially viable alternatives.

A substructure synthesis formulation for vibration isolation

open access: yes, 2008
The new modeling method presented here is classified as a substructure synthesis (SS) technique. The distinction between the new SS method and the component mode synthesis formulation is that no transformation between local coordinates and generalized ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Synthesis of new trimeric lignin model compounds containing 5-5' and b-O-4' substructures, and their characterization by 1D and 2D NMR Techniques

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2000
Trimeric lignin model compounds containing biphenyl (5-5') and beta-aryl ether (beta-O-4') were synthesized from dehydrodivanillin derivatives and alpha-bromo acetovanillone derivatives via Williamson's reaction. The ¹H and 13C NMR characteristics of the
