In 19 people with Parkinson's disease and STN‐DBS, aperiodic features of cortical EEG and STN LFP tracked one another across full nights of polysomnography‐scored sleep. Aperiodic offset and slope distinguished wakefulness from sleep, and STN‐LFP features alone classified sleep stages as accurately as combined STN‐LFP and EEG.

Optogenetic investigation into the role of the subthalamic nucleus in motor control
The subthalamic nucleus is important achieve intended movements. Loss of its normal function is strongly associated with several movement disorders. Classical basal ganglia models postulate that two parallel pathways, the direct and indirect pathways ...

Cortical Contributions to Attentional Orienting and Response Cancellation in Action Stopping
ABSTRACT Action cancellation involves the termination of planned or ongoing movement, likely initiated in the cortex by the pre‐supplementary motor area (preSMA) and inferior frontal gyrus (IFG). It is frequently examined using the stop‐signal task; electromyography (EMG) studies have shown action cancellation (in stop trials) can involve the partial ...

In young major depressive disorder, substantia nigra and locus coeruleus qMRI phenotypes were linked to functional network organization and depressive severity through right locus coeruleus‐centered connectivity pathways. ABSTRACT Major depressive disorder (MDD) involves network‐level abnormalities that may reflect dysfunction in catecholaminergic ...
