Varicella Zoster Virus Infection: Clinical Features, Molecular Pathogenesis, Treatment, and Prevention

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
This review focuses on the clinical features, molecular mechanisms, treatment methods, and preventive measures of the VZV, with the aim of providing a theoretical basis for the development of new treatment and prevention methods for HZ. ABSTRACT Varicella zoster virus (VZV) is a ubiquitous human herpesvirus that establishes lifelong latency and causes ...

An Engineered Extracellular Vesicle With Enhanced Tumor and Lymph Nodes Targeting as siRNA Delivery System for Robust Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Simple incubation with DP7‐C enables the generation of extracellular vesicles (DP‐EVs) with enhanced both tumor and lymph nodes targeting properties. DP‐EVs/siPD‐L1 can effectively inhibit tumor growth and greatly prolong the survival of tumor bearing mice through immune response activation and tumor microenvironment reprogramming.

MicroRNAs in Methamphetamine: Addiction, Neurotoxicity, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesMedComm – Future Medicine, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
The use of METH leads to the release of dopamine from the affected brain regions, including the nucleus accumbens (NAc), ventral tegmental area (VTA), prefrontal cortex (PFC), hippocampus (Hip), and striatum. This triggers signals that alter miRNA expression, which in turn leads to differential expression of target genes.

A Novel Cell‐Penetrating Lipopeptide for DNA Binding, Self‐Assembly, and Delivery Into HeLa and Pluripotent Stem Cells

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.
A lipopeptide is designed that contains an epitope from simian virus T‐antigen (SV40T, PKKKRKV) conjugated to an N‐terminal palmitoyl (C16‐) moiety, which acts as a cell‐penetrating lipopeptide, with additional aggregation propensity conferred by the lipid chain. The lipopeptide enables DNA delivery into the cytoplasm and nucleus.

Structural Basis of MERS‐CoV Receptor Interactions and Antibody Neutralisations

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Increasing outbreaks of coronaviruses underscore the importance of antivirals and vaccines that can combat a wide range of coronaviruses. Neutralising antibodies (nAbs), along with vaccines and small‐molecule drugs, are among the most promising treatments and prevention options against coronaviruses.
