Succinic Acid Production from Oil Palm Biomass: A Prospective Plastic Pollution Solution

open access: yesFermentation, 2023
Plastic pollution has placed a significant emphasis on the need for synthesising bioplastics, such as polybutylene succinate (PBS), which is derived from succinic acid.

Bio-Succinic Acid Production from Palm Oil Mill Effluent Using Enterococcus gallinarum with Sequential Purification of Biogas

open access: yesFermentation, 2023
Bio-succinic acid production using microorganisms has been interesting as an environmentally friendly process. Palm oil mill effluent (POME) was considered as a cheap substrate to lower the cost of production.

Bis(2-aminothiazolium) succinate succinic acid [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2009
In the title compound, 2C(3)H(5)N(2)S(+)·C(4)H(4)O(4) (2-)·C(4)H(6)O(4), the thia-zolium ring is almost planar, with the maximum deviation from planarity being 0.0056 (8) Å for the C atom carrying the amine substituent. The N atom of the 2-amino-thia-zole mol-ecule is protonated. Both the anion and the acid lie across inversion centres.

Succinic acid production by wine yeasts and the influence of GABA and glutamic acid

open access: yesInternational Microbiology, 2023
As a consequence of alcoholic fermentation (AF) in wine, several compounds are released by yeasts, and some of them are linked to the general quality and mouthfeel perceptions in wine.

Production of succinic acid through the fermentation of Actinobacillus succinogenes on the hydrolysate of Napier grass

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels and Bioproducts, 2022
Background Napier grass biomass can be hydrolyzed mainly containing glucose and xylose after alkaline pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis. This biomass can be fermented using Actinobacillus succinogenes to produce succinic acid.

Beech wood treated with polyglycerol succinate: a new effective method for its protection and stabilization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper deals with an original and non-biocidal chemical treatment consisting of a vacuum/pressure impregnation step of beech wood with a water-borne mixture made from heat-activated condensation of succinic anhydride (SA) and glycerol (G).

Pharmacokinetic study on the interaction between succinic acid and irbesartan in rats and its potential mechanism

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2021
Context Succinic acid and irbesartan are commonly used drugs in cardiovascular disease treatment. The interaction might occur during their co-administration, which was still unclear.

Optimization of Slurry Fermentation for Succinic Acid Production by Fungal Co-culture

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2021
This study attempted to produce succinic acid from co-culture of Aspergillus niger, Trichoderma reesei, and Phanerochaete chrysosporium strains in a two-step fermentation: solid-state fermentation pre-culturing phase followed by slurry fermentation ...
