Continuous succinic acid fermentation by Actinobacillus succinogenes in a packed-bed biofilm reactor

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2018
Background Succinic acid is one of the most interesting platform chemicals that can be produced in a biorefinery approach. In this study, continuous succinic acid production by Actinobacillus succinogenes fermentation in a packed-bed biofilm reactor ...

Very high performance 50 nm T-gate III-V HEMTs enabled by robust nanofabrication technologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, we review a range of nanofabrication techniques which enable the realization of uniform, high yield, high performance 50 nm T-gate III-V high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs). These technologies have been applied in the fabrication of

Effective Penetration of the Oxidized Keratin‐Rebonding Materials Into Hair Shafts Based on Charge Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed a smart hair‐repair ingredient based on β‐carboxylic acid amide that undergoes negative‐to‐positive charge conversion under mildly acidic conditions. The initial negative charge facilitates deep penetration into the hair fiber, while the subsequent positive charge enables re‐bonding with sulfonate groups in damaged hair keratin.
