We describe the clinical symptoms and biochemical findings of a patient with succinyl-CoA:acetoacetate transferase deficiency who presented in the neonatal period and review the current literature on this subject. Our patient was initially suspected to have distal renal tubular acidosis, and subsequently, a fasting test revealed severe metabolic ...

Succinyl CoA Synthetase of Tobacco
Physiologia Plantarum, 1969AbstractThe isouition and partial purification of succinyl CoA synthetase from Nicotiana tabacum is described. Enzynio activity had a pH optimum of pH 7.0 and apparent Km values for succinic acid. ATF and MgCl2. are 3.5 × 10−2 5.7 × 10−3 and 4.0 × 10−3 M, respectively. The euzyme is specific in requirement for ATP.

Abstract Blocking the ϵ-amino·groups of the lysine residues in the bovine VIII/vWf complex by succinylation and dodecyl succinylation resulted in the total loss of procoagulant activity. In contrast, the platelet aggregating activity was totally lost after succinylation, but only partially lost after dodecyl succinylation.

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the molecular and catalytic properties of succinyl-CoA synthetase. Succinyl-CoA synthetase catalyzes the reversible reaction, which may be considered to be the interconversion of two kinds of high energy bonds: thiolester and phosphate anhydride. In the forward direction, the reaction represents the “substrate-
