Detection of Phenolic Compounds by Chromatography in Beet Sugar Molasses

Agricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1963
Detection of phenolic compounds in beet sugar molasses was carried out by paper chromatography. Some of the phenolic compounds were identified with catechol, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, melilotic acid, salicylic acid, syringic acid, vanillin and vanillic acid and three other phenolic compounds were detected though they have not been identified.

Production of oxalic acid from sugar beet molasses by formed nitrogen oxides

Bioresource Technology, 2001
Production of oxalic acid from sugar beet molasses was developed in a series of three reactors. Nitrogen oxides formed were used to manufacture oxalic acid in the second and third reactor. Parameters affecting the reaction were determined to be, air flow rate, temperature, the amount of V2O5 catalyst and the concentrations of molasses and H2SO4.

Utilization of sugar beet molasses and monensin for finishing dairy bullocks

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 1989
Twenty-two bullocks (11 American Holstein × European Friesian (H × F) and 11 American Holstein × Moroccan Brown Atlas (H × B)) were used to evaluate effects of feeding levels of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris altissima) molasses with and without monensin and effect of maternal dam on feedlot performance.

Optimization of osmotic dehydration of apple in sugar beet molasses

2023
Osmotic dehydration is an environmentally acceptable, material gentle drying process, which received considerable attention because of the low processing temperature, base waste material and low energy requirement. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine the optimum processing conditions that yield maximum water loss and dry matter ...

Optimization of osmotic dehydration of apples in sugar beet molasses

2023
This paper describes the effects of different concentrations of sugar beet molasses (40-80%) and immersion times (1-5 h) on osmotic dehydration/impregnation of apple cubes. Osmotic dehydration process was conducted at constant temperature of 55C and under atmospheric pressure.

Osmotic dehydration in sugar beet molasses-food safety and quality benefits

2023
In recent year’s osmotic dehydration as a method of food preservation is drawing more attention due to many advantages regarding low energy processing conditions, mild temperatures and the possibility of reusing waste material. One of the most important factors that have a major influence on the efficiency of the osmotic dehydration process is a ...

The Effects of Sugar Beet Molasses Applications on Root Yield and Sugar Content of Sugar Beet (Beta vulgaris L.)

2016
The present study was carried out to determine effects of molasses obtained from sugar beet on yield and quality of sugar beet in Isparta, Turkey during 2011 and 2012 crop seasons. Different concentrations of molasses were applied to soil and to plant leaves at different doses (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 kg/ha) 3 times during the vegetation period.
