ANALISA KARAKTERISTIK MANISAN KERING SALAK(SALACCA EDULIS) DENGAN LAMA PERENDAMAN DAN KONSENTRASI LARUTAN GULA

open access: yesAgrointek, 2016
Snake fruit (Salacca edulis) can be made into dried fruit with addition of high concentration of sugar syrup prior to drying. This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of sugar solution and soaking time on the characteristics of ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Hyperspectral Imaging for Quality Assessment of Processed Foods: A Case Study on Sugar Content in Apple Jam

open access: yesFoods
Apple jam is a widely used all-season product. The quality of the jam is closely related to its sugar concentration, which affects its taste, texture, shelf life, and legal compliance with production requirements.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

EFFECT OF NITROGEN SOURCE AND INITIAL SUGAR CONCENTRATION ON LACTIC ACID FERMENTATION OF PINEAPPLE WASTE USING L.DELBRUECKII [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The liquid pineapple waste contains mainly sucrose, glucose, fructose and other nutrients. It therefore can potentially be used as carbon source for lactic acid fermentation.

Variation in Floral Nectar Traits of Four Chestnut (Castanea spp.) Cultivars: Implications for Pollinators and Apiculture

open access: yesAgriculture
Pollinator nutrition and honey production potential depend on nectar quantity, nectar availability across flowering phases, and sugar concentration. For chestnut (Castanea spp.), cultivar- and flowering phase-specific nectar data remain limited.

Effects of High Sugar Content on Fermentation Dynamics and Some Metabolites of Wine-Related Yeast Species Saccharomyces cerevisiae, S. uvarum and Starmerella bacillaris

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology, 2020
Starmerella bacillaris (synonym Candida zemplinina) is an important non-Saccharomyces yeast in winemaking with valuable oenological properties, accompanying Saccharomyces species in sweet wine fermentation, and has also been suggested for application as ...

All sugars ain't sweet: selection of particular mono-, di- and trisaccharides by western carpenter ants and European fire ants

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2021
Ants select sustained carbohydrate resources, such as aphid honeydew, based on many factors including sugar type, volume and concentration. We tested the hypotheses (H1–H3) that western carpenter ants, Camponotus modoc, seek honeydew excretions from ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...
