Sugar concentration dependence.

open access: yes, 2016
Transient currents obtained with XylE and FucP proteoliposomes after a sugar concentration jump at pH 7.6 using the low time resolution set up. The different concentrations of D-Xylose and L-Fucose are indicated.

The effect of EU 2006 sugar regime reform on vertical price transmission

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Economics, 2017
CAP regulation of sugar sector has frequently been questioned because of its potential effect on competition. In 2006 the CAP reform of the sugar sector established a relevant break in policy trend with potential albeit untargeted effects on price ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

COMBINATION OF REVERSE OSMOSIS AND ELECTRODEIONIZATION FOR SIMULTANEOUS SUGAR RECOVERY AND SALTS REMOVAL FROM SUGARY WASTEWATER [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An integrated membrane system combining reverse osmosis (RO) and electrodeionization (EDI) is used for simultaneous sugar concentration and salts removal from a synthetic dilute sugar solution as a model of sugar-containing wastewater. The RO system uses

Season and sugar concentration affect bird behaviour at urban sugar-water feeders

open access: yes, 2022
Sugar-water bird feeding in residential backyards is increasingly popular, but its effects on wildlife are poorly understood. One concern is whether it results in maladaptive behaviour, such as reliance on artificial food or increased aggression due to ...

Non-contact fiber optic displacement sensor for sugar concentration detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A non-contact fiber optic displacement sensor was used for sugar concentration sensing. A concentric fiber optic bundle and sucrose solutions were used as the fiber probe and sugar samples respectively.

The Effect of Sugar Dose and Fermentation Time On The Quality of Sauerkreut as a Source of Probiotic

open access: yesAnimal Production: Indonesian Journal of Animal Production
This study aims to determine the effect of sugar dosage and fermentation time on the quality of sauerkraut as a source of probiotics. This study used an experimental method in a 3x3 factorial completely randomized design (CRD).

Experimental Investigation of Nanofiltration Process for the Separation of Complex Sugar Mixtures Containing Mono- and Multivalent Salts

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
The energy consumption of sugar producing industry is enormous mainly due to the thermal energy demand of multi-stage evaporation. However, alternative processes have been studied to reduce the high operating cost.

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...
