Ultrasensitive Detection of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus Infections Using Multivalent DNA Nanostructure‐Enabled Lateral Flow Assay

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multivalent DNA nanostructure‐enabled lateral flow assay was developed for rapid, ultrasensitive detection of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) nucleocapsid protein. Designer net‐shaped DNA nanostructures (DNA‐Net) presenting PEDV‐specific aptamers achieved ~1000‐fold enhanced binding, enabling detection of viral copies with Ct ≤ 37.42 within 10

Carbohydrates: Neutral and Minor Sugars

open access: yes, 2011
This chapter covers carbohydrates, the most abundant class of biopolymers on Earth and significant components of water column particulate organic matter and dissolved organic matter in aquatic environments.

Sugars tied to the spot [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The interactions of sugars and proteins underlie many biological processes, and cataloguing them is a daunting task.

Tracking Spatiotemporal Extracellular Matrix Evolution and Tissue Fusion in 3D Microtissues via Click Chemistry‐Based Metabolic Labelling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Metabolic labeling of nascent proteins in 3D microtissue spheroids provides a powerful analytical approach for large‐scale tissue engineering. Incorporation of non‐canonical amino acids with fluorescent tagging enables spatiotemporal investigation of extracellular matrix deposition and its evolution during multicellular tissue development and fusion ...

Neutrophil‐Mimetic MRI Enables Ultra‐Early Detection of Vascular Inflammation After Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed neutrophil‐mimetic MRI probes that detect ultra‐early neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke by targeting E‐selectin. Within seconds of their injection, these microparticles mimic initial leukocyte adhesion to the activated cerebral endothelium.

The influence of glucosinolates and sugars on feeding by the cabbage stem flea beetle, Psylliodes chrysocephala

open access: yes, 1994
Agar was used as an artificial substrate to investigate the feeding behaviour of the cabbage stem flea beetle, Psylliodes chrysocephala L. (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), an important pest of winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus) in Europe.

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

Estimating added sugars intake in New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Added sugars intake in New Zealand (NZ) cannot be accurately estimated, as the NZ Food Composition Database (NZFCD) does not distinguish between total sugar and added sugars in foods.

Estimation of sugars by acid hydrolysis of sorghum husk by standard methods

open access: yes, 2013
Sorghum husk is a lignocelluloses source that can be converted to reducing sugars. Sorghum husk was hydrolyzed using sulphuric acid (0.2N) at a temperature of 65-70°C. It was observed that the degradation has significant effect with respect to amount of

Adaptable Covalent Organic Framework‐Hydrogel Microneedles for Glucose‐Responsive Isoliquiritigenin Delivery in Diabetic Wound Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a covalent organic framework‐loaded Traditional Chinese Medicine monomer nanodrug delivery system (ISL@bCOF) via boron‐oxygen bonds, a smart response to glucose for delivering AI‐driven isoliquiritigenin (ISL) targeting ZBP1. This dynamic release mechanism, combined with transdermal delivery technology via potent microneedles, can modulate ...
