Conformational variability of the glycine receptor M2 domain in response to activation by different agonists [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Models describing the structural changes mediating cys-loop receptor activation generally give little attention to the possibility that different agonists may promote activation via distinct M2 pore-lining domain structural rearrangements.

Near‐Freezing‐Temperature Golgi Neuronal Staining for X‐ray Imaging of Human Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A near‐freezing temperature staining strategy, combined with a mercury chloride‐based method, effectively preserves delicate neuronal structures in post‐mortem frozen human brain tissues by minimizing autolysis. This approach enables uniform labeling across centimeter‐scale slices and, when integrated with synchrotron‐based X‐ray microscopy, achieves ...

In Situ Electrically Resettable Field‐Effect Transistor Biosensors for Continuous and Multiplexed Neurotransmitter Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The research team integrated a potentiometrically controlled pH electrode with carbon nanotube (CNT) field‐effect transistor (FET) biosensors on a single chip using compatible processes. By employing zonal modification and optimized pH‐sensitive probes, they achieved simultaneous quadruple‐target detection and tenfold reusability under physiological ...

A Tailored Artificial Biocatalyst for Bacterial Endophthalmitis Therapy via Enhanced Ferroptosis‐Like Death

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A tailored bio‐targeted catalytic strategy based on a bacteria‐specific artificial biocatalyst (MoS2/Fe@mercaptophenylboronic acid@hyaluronic acid, MFBH) is proposed for treating bacterial endophthalmitis. This strategy exhibits high‐efficiency peptidoglycan‐targeted bactericidal efficacy in vivo following a single intravitreal injection of an ...

Detoxicant and hepatoprotective effect of cystamine dihydrochlorid in acute intoxication by carbone tetrachloride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
It is known, that level of sulfhydryl groups (SH-groups) is one of the important factors determining the liver sensitivity to damaging effect of halogenated hydrocarbons, alkylating, and other hepatotropic compounds. When you are citing the document, use

Reactions of ferryl lactoperoxidase (compound II) with sulfide and sulfhydryl compounds.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1984
Lactoperoxidase in the ferryl state (compound II) reacts with sulfide to form a typical sulfheme -containing hemoprotein as do hemoglobin, myoglobin, and catalase. Ferrous sulflactoperoxidase is primarily formed and then oxidized to its ferric form under aerobic conditions.

Dual‐Modular Hydrogel Microparticles with Precision‐Modulation of Inflammatory Microenvironment Dictate Full‐Thickness Cartilage Regeneration for Osteoarthritis Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cartilage injury is a prominent pathological hallmark of osteoarthritis. In this study, we developed a two‐modular hydrogel microparticle system wherein HMP‐A effectively targets the damaged area, while HMP‐B forms an efficient connection with HMP‐A on the cartilage surface.
