Differential sensitivity of plant-associated bacteria to sulfonylurea and imidazolinone herbicides

open access: yes, 1995
The side effects of sulfonylurea and imidazolinone herbicides on plant-associated bacteria were investigated under pure culture conditions. Eighteen isolates, belonging to the genera Azotobacter Azospirillum, Bacillus, Enterobacter Pseudomonas and ...

A Four‐Week Treatment With Dapagliflozin Is Associated With a Reduction in Insulin‐Stimulated Renal Cortical Glucose Uptake: A Post Hoc Analysis From a Pilot Study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction and Objective Treatment with sodium‐glucose cotransporter‐2 inhibitors (SGLT‐2i) reduces the risk of both cardiovascular and renal outcomes in type 2 diabetes (T2D). The specific mechanism by which this happens has not yet been clarified.

Conformational analysis of non-sulfonylurea hypoglycemic agents of the meglitinide family

open access: yes, 1995
Non-sulfonylurea hypoglycemic agents of the meglitinide family such as S3075, repaglinide, KAD-1229, and A-4166, were found to display a comparable U-shaped conformation by molecular modelling, with hydrophobic cycles placed at the extremity of each ...

Efficacy and Safety of Intensifying Once‐Weekly Insulin Icodec Treatment With Once‐Weekly Semaglutide in Adults With Type 2 Diabetes: A Single‐Arm, Open‐Label, Treat‐to‐Target, Phase 3b Trial (ONWARDS 8)

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims To investigate the efficacy and safety of intensifying once‐weekly insulin icodec (icodec) with once‐weekly semaglutide in adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Materials and Methods ONWARDS 8 was a single‐arm, open‐label, treat‐to‐target, Phase 3b trial comprising a 26‐week icodec run‐in period and a 26‐week semaglutide intensification ...

Polysubstrates: substances that interact with renal contraluminal PAH, sulfate, and NMeN transport: sulfamoyl-, sulfonylurea-, thiazide- and benzeneamino-carboxylate (nicotinate) compounds

open access: yes, 1994
Some N-containing xenobiotics were recently shown to behave as bisubstrates; that is, they interact with and are transported by both the contraluminal transport system for organic anions (PAH) and the contraluminal transport system for organic cations ...

Potential Mediators of Efpeglenatide's Cardiovascular Benefit: An Exploratory Analysis of the AMPLITUDE‐O Trial

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims In the AMPLITUDE O trial, efpeglenatide reduced major cardiovascular events by 27% in 4076 individuals with Type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular or kidney disease compared to placebo during a median follow‐up of 1.81 years. This exploratory mediation analysis evaluates the degree to which changes in measured clinical variables ...

Primary cardiovascular preventive effect of thiazolidinedione in adults with type 2 diabetes: A nationwide cohort study in Korea

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Among Korean adults with type 2 diabetes and no prior cardiovascular disease, thiazolidinedione use was associated with a lower risk of the primary composite outcome of stroke, myocardial infarction, hospitalization for heart failure, and all‐cause mortality compared to dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitor use. ABSTRACT Background Thiazolidinediones (TZDs)
