TOC represents the synthesis of theory‐guided novel near‐infrared (NIR) light‐absorbing organic photosensitizers (OPS) enabling redox‐induced tumor phototherapy and single‐cell organelle tracking. ABSTRACT The design of organic photosensitizers that operate efficiently in the near‐infrared (NIR) region remains challenging due to the need to balance ...

Macrophage membrane‐coated Cu/Zn‐MOF nanozyme microneedles (MNs) reprogram the diabetic wound microenvironment through localized, minimally invasive delivery. By suppressing M1‐like macrophage activation while promoting extracellular matrix deposition and angiogenesis, this biomimetic platform accelerates diabetic wound repair.

Superoxide and superoxide dismutase in red blood cells.
In 1969 a previously obscure copper protein of red blood cells, erythrocuprein, was shown to catalyse the dismutation of superoxide radicals. Erythrocuprein thus became superoxide dismutase and the object of intensive study. Superoxide dismutase is typically an enzyme of aerobic organisms which utilize oxygen as the major electron acceptor.

An ionic naphthalimide AIE photosensitizer (PS), TPAPV‐NIM‐M, anchors to cellular and bacterial membranes, emits in the far‐red/near‐infrared (NIR) region, and efficiently generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) under white light. Its membrane‐localized photodynamic action drives apoptosis/ferroptosis‐mediated tumor suppression and broad‐spectrum ...

Introduction. Inflammation and endothelium-derived superoxides are important pathomechanisms in atherothrombotic diseases. We could previously show that the tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1 acts as a negative regulator in endothelial superoxide production.

A multifunctional bioactive PEEK‐based implant (Mn@p/MBG‐SPEEK) is engineered to combat implant‐associated infections while promoting osteogenesis. The hybrid surface activates PI3K/Akt/mTOR and AP‐1 signaling pathways for osteogenic differentiation, while Mn coordination induces electronic coupling that narrows the HOMO‐LUMO energy gap and enhances ...
