Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform for supervisory control of mineral grinding process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Supervisory control technology is widely used to improve product quality in mineral grinding process (MGP). To ensure safety, new supervisory control method needs to be fully tested before practical application.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

A Safe Supervisory Flight Control Scheme in the Presence of Constraints and Anomalies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2015
In this paper the hybrid supervisory control architecture developed by Famularo et al. (2011) for constrained control systems is adopted with the aim to improve safety in aircraft operations when critical events like command saturations or unpredicted ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Modeling guidelines for component-based supervisory control synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Supervisory control theory provides means to synthesize supervisors from a model of the uncontrolled plant and a model of the control requirements. Currently, control engineers lack experience with using automata for this purpose, which results in low ...
