Probing atomic-scale processes at the ferrihydrite-water interface with reactive molecular dynamics
Interfacial processes involving metal (oxyhydr)oxide phases are important for the mobility and bioavailability of nutrients and contaminants in soils, sediments, and water.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Sorption of tetravalent U(IV) on MX-80 and granite in Ca-Na-Cl solutions under reducing conditions
Uranium has been identified as an element of interest for the safety assessment of a deep geological repository (DGR) for used nuclear fuel. This paper studied the sorption behavior of tetravalent U(IV) onto MX-80 bentonite and granite in ionic strength ...

RETRASO, a code for modeling reactive transport in saturated and unsaturated porous media
The code RETRASO (REactive TRAnsport of SOlutes) simulates reactive transport of dissolved and gaseous species in non-isothermal saturated or unsaturated problems.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Contribution of Ternary Reaction to Pd Sorption on MX-80 in Na-Ca-Cl Solution at High Ionic Strength
In this study, we first examined the sorption of Pd on MX-80 in Na-Ca-ClO4 solution as a function of pHc (3–9) and ionic strength (0.1 M–4 M) and confirmed that the experimentally derived Kd values could be fitted by a 2-site protolysis nonelectrostatic ...
