Azaporphyrinoid‐Based Photo‐ and Electroactive Architectures for Advanced Functional Materials
A long‐standing collaboration between the Torres and Guldi groups has yielded diverse azaporphyrinoid‐based donor‐acceptor nanohybrids with promising applications in solar energy conversion. This conspectus highlights key molecular platforms and structure‐function relationships that govern light and charge management, supporting the rational design of ...

True endpoint reduction by surrogate endpoints
ABSTRACTThe use of surrogate endpoint, which is becoming widely popular now a days, was introduced in medical research to reduce the time of experiment required for the approval of a drug. Through cost cutting and time saving, the surrogate endpoints can bring profit to the medicine producers. We obtain the expression for the reduction of true samples,

Change in albuminuria as a surrogate endpoint [PDF]
Chronic kidney disease is a global health problem with few effective therapies available that slow the progression to end-stage renal disease. The established clinical endpoints for renal trials; doubling of serum creatinine or end-stage renal disease, are late manifestations of CKD.

Challenge of Surrogate Endpoints
Southern Medical Journal, 2012Surrogate endpoints are biomarkers that are intended to substitute for clinical endpoints. They have been used to find novel therapeutic targets, improve the statistical power and shorten the duration of clinical trials, and control the cost of conducting research studies.

The Evaluation of Multiple Surrogate Endpoints
Biometrics, 2001Summary.Surrogate endpoints are desirable because they typically result in smaller, faster efficacy studies compared with the ones using the clinical endpoints. Research on surrogate endpoints has received substantial attention lately, but most investigations have focused on the validity of using a single biomarker as a surrogate.

In Chapter 3, I utilize publicly available datasets of gene expression and DNA methylation in sarcomas to interrogate PRC2-dependent mechanisms of epigenetic crosstalk. I have shown that loss of PRC2 correlates with a global hypermethylation profile, tumor microenvironment changes, and patient outcome.

Evaluating surrogate endpoints
Controlled Clinical Trials, 2002The validation of surrogate endpoints has been studied by Prentice, who presented a definition as well as a set of criteria that are equivalent if the surrogate and true endpoints are binary. Freedman et al. supplemented these criteria with the so-called proportion explained.
