Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Gradient Enhanced Surrogate Modeling Methods for NDE Applications

open access: yes, 2016
Over the past 15 years, there has been significant interest in the NDE community in surrogate modeling applied to both uncertainty propagation (UP) as well as inverse uncertainty quantification (UQ).

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Replacing FEA for sheet metal forming by surrogate modeling

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents an innovative approach for employing surrogate modeling in computer-aided design of sheet metal work pieces. The surrogate models replace expensive finite element analysis and thus shorten development time in the early design stages ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Surrogate modeling assistant software

open access: yes
Computer modeling is designed to predict the behavior of complex systems by solving the corresponding mathematical equations of the physical process. The simulation requires a huge number of parameters to be found, and they all require a large number of ...

Conditional Denoising Model as a Physical Surrogate Model

open access: yesCoRR
Surrogate modeling for complex physical systems typically faces a trade-off between data-fitting accuracy and physical consistency. Physics-consistent approaches typically treat physical laws as soft constraints within the loss function, a strategy that frequently fails to guarantee strict adherence to the governing equations, or rely on post ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Adaptive Hybrid Surrogate Modeling for Complex Systems

open access: yes, 2013
This paper explores the effectiveness of the recently developed surrogate modeling method, the Adaptive Hybrid Functions, when applied in conjunction with different sampling techniques and different sample sizes. The Adaptive Hybrid Functions is a hybrid
