Experimental Cell Research, 1973Abstract Temperature sensitive variant clones of African green monkey kidney cell line (BSC-1) have been isolated which were transformed at a high frequency by SV40 at the restricted temperature, but were lytic to SV40 infection at the permissive temperature.

SV40 and SV40-like viruses as possible risk factors.
Archiv fur Geschwulstforschung, 1983SV 40 and its derivatives are highly suspicious of being risk factors involved in the development of certain intracranial tumors. Therefore further activities should be undertaken to prove or to disregard this suspicion especially with respect to the world-wide man-made dissemination of SV 40 among the human population.
