Cardiometabolic Health in P'urépecha Migrant‐Sending Communities in Michoacan, Mexico

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Human Biology, Volume 38, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Migration–health research frequently attributes cardiometabolic risk among migrants to post‐migration dietary and lifestyle change, despite limited empirical evidence from migrant‐sending communities. This assumption is particularly salient in studies of indigenous populations, where pre‐migration contexts are often treated as culturally ...

Degradation Mechanisms, Encapsulation‐Based Stabilization, and Analytical Detection of Vitamin A

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, Volume 103, Issue 9, Page 1079-1097, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Vitamin A is an important lipid‐soluble micronutrient essential for vision, immune function, and overall growth and development. However, vitamin A is unstable and susceptible to environmental factors because of its conjugated structure and inherent chemical reactivity.

Classification, Structure–Activity Relationship, and Anti‐Osteoarthritis Mechanism of Natural Flavonoids

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Natural product flavonoids have a multi‐target therapeutic intervention effect on osteoarthritis. They promote autophagy and cartilage synthesis while alleviating oxidative stress, inhibiting inflammation, and inhibiting matrix degradation. By restoring OPG/RANKL balance and regulating bone metabolism, these compounds synergistically delay the ...

Kinetic Modeling of Phosphate‐Based Enzyme Cascade for the Production of Fructose From Starch

open access: yesChemFoodChem, Volume 2, Issue 3, September 2026.
A mechanistic kinetic model is developed for a phosphate‐based cascade converting starch to fructose. Mechanistic information was used to formulate rate expression of enzymes, and sensitivity analysis was performed to identify key kinetic parameters for optimization.

Can artificial intelligence effectively mimic a maize breeder's selection decisions?

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 66, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
Abstract Genetic improvement depends on multi‐trait selection decisions whereby breeders advance a subset of candidates from a larger population. Our objective was to assess whether artificial intelligence via machine learning can effectively mimic selection decisions in maize (Zea mays L.). Seven experienced maize breeders independently made selection
