Decoding the mechanism of the interaction between aroma compounds in sweet oranges
Food ChemistryThe aroma profile of sweet oranges, a critical determinant of fruit quality, arises from complex interactions among volatile compounds rather than their simple summation. While existing studies focus on compound identification, the mechanistic basis of aroma interactions remains underexplored.

Biochemical characterization of blood orange, sweet orange, lemon, bergamot and bitter orange
Phytochemistry, 2003This paper reports on the composition of aroma compounds and fatty acids and some physico-chemical parameters (juice percentage, acidity and total sugars) in five varieties of citrus: blood orange, sweet orange, lemon, bergamot and bitter orange. Volatile compounds and methyl esters have been analyzed by gas chromatography.

Flowering in the sweet orange.
Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, 1954Anthesis in Navels and Valencias in the Mildura district normally takes place over a period of 5-6 weeks from late September to the end of October. The first flowers to open are terminal (distal) on leafless shoots. Flowers on leafy shoots are generally open about I week later. Promoting flowering in sweet orange
Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, 1971Two substances reported to stimulate flowering in citrus, Alar (N-dimethylamino-succinamic acid) at 3000 p.p.m. and Hyvar-X (5-bromo-6-n1ethyl-3-s-butyluracil) at 783 p.p.m., when applied twice to sweet orange plants under marginally flower-inducing conditions (24/19¦C day/night temperature) resulted in fewer flowers being formed than in the controls ...
