Acta Horticulturae, 2005Models simulating dry matter production have been developed for a large number of greenhouse crops during the past decades. This paper describes how plant-nutrient relationships can be incorporated in a model for greenhouse crops, with sweet pepper as an example.

Plant Pathology, 1987A new disease of peppers (Capsicum annuum) is described. The most characteristic symptom is vein yellowing of the youngest leaves. Some streaking occurs on the first‐formed fruits. The symptoms were reproduced in pepper plants cv. Bellboy by graft and Olpidium

Netherlands Journal of Plant Pathology, 1980Phytophthora capsici proved to be the causal agent of a root and crown rot of sweet pepper in the Netherlands.P. capsici was pathogenic on sweet pepper, tomato and sometimes on eggplant but not on tobacco ‘Xanthi’. Of these test plants only tomato was infected byP. nicotianae.

Relationships Between Pepper Weevil and Internal Mold of Sweet Pepper
Plant Disease, 1989Alternaria alternata was recovered from 37-63% of pepper weevil (Anthonomus eugenii) punctures on bell pepper (Capsicum annuum), depending on age of the fruit. In artificial inoculation studies, the germ tube of A. alternata elongated and entered puncture wounds, which ultimately showed internal mold similar to natural infections.
