Topographic patterns of brain activity in response to swim stress: assessment by 2-deoxyglucose uptake and expression of Fos-like immunoreactivity [PDF]
Alterations in brain activity patterns were assessed in response to swim stress by immunocytochemical detection of Fos-like immunoreactivity (Fos-LI) and high-resolution autoradiographic imaging of 14C-2-deoxyglucose (2-DG) uptake.

Switching Superconductivity with Uniaxial Strain in a high‐Tc${\rm T}_{c}$ Cuprate Superconductor
Uniaxial strain is demonstrated as a new scheme for a superconductivity switch. Exploiting the large strain‐induced Tc shift in a cuprate superconductor enables robust switching between superconducting and normal states over 100 cycles with only 0.1% strain.

Administration of orexin receptor 1 antagonist into the rostral ventromedial medulla increased swim stress-induced antinociception in rat [PDF]
Objective(s): Intracerebroventricular injection of orexin-A (hypocretin-1) antagonist has been shown to inhibit stress-induced analgesia. However the locations of central sites that may mediate these effects have not been totally demonstrated. This study

Stressful experiences potently activate kappa opioid receptors (κORs). κORs in the ventral tegmental area regulate multiple aspects of dopaminergic and non-dopaminergic cell function. Here we show that at GABAergic synapses on rat VTA dopamine neurons, a

Neuromorphic plasticity in OECTs is governed by the post‐stimulus evolution of coupled ionic and electronic states. Semiconductor chemistry and morphology, electrolyte composition and interfaces, and device architecture regulate ion injection, transport, confinement, and release, shifting responses from rapidly relaxing STP to metastable memory and ...

α-Adrenoceptor Involvement in Swim Stress-induced Antinociception in the Mouse
Three different intensities of swim stress produced stress-induced antinociception (SIA) in mice which was assessed either by the reduction in the number of abdominal constrictions produced by acetic acid or by an increase in reaction time on a hot-plate.

Material Coupling in Hybrid Neuromorphic Devices: From Fundamentals to System‐Level Applications
Hybrid neuromorphic devices utilize heterointerfaces between emerging semiconductors, where charge transfer and trapping, ion or defect modulation, and photogating are translated into synaptic functions. This paper discusses coupling strategies that tailor interfacial electronic and ionic properties in organic semiconductors, metal oxides, two ...

Cuttlefish and squid can catch their prey within milliseconds using specialized tentacles and suckers. The physics of how the suckers can attach so quickly has remained a mystery given the technical challenges of studying them in vivo. In this publication, we develop a hydrogel that retains imprints of the suckers in order to estimate the forces they ...

Effect of PB and IN14 on swim stress-induced short- and long-term memory impairment in the NORT.
A) Swim stress impaired short- and long-term memory retrieval. B) Lack of effects of PB and IN14 (both 100 mg/kg) in non-stressed mice performance. C) Effects of PB and IN14 on swim stress-induced short- and long-term memory impairment. ** p&p
