Current preclinical studies of AAV‐mediated gene therapy explore different strategies based on the characteristics of inner ear diseases. For genetic hearing loss, approaches include the replacement of a “good gene,” removal of a “bad gene,” or direct correction of mutations through base editing.

Spontaneous and evoked synaptic vesicle release arises from a single releasable pool
Summary: The quantal content of an evoked postsynaptic response is typically determined by dividing it by the average spontaneous miniature response. However, this approach is challenged by the notion that different synaptic vesicle pools might drive ...

sEVs have a critical role in orchestrating interorgan crosstalk and mediating exercise‐induced therapeutic effects. Lin et al. demonstrates that sEVs miR‐17/20a‐5p mediates the muscle‐brain crosstalk and emphasizes the central role of mTOR signaling in executing molecular programs that can protect brain health in response to exercise. Abstract Physical

A 38,000-dalton membrane protein (p38) present in synaptic vesicles.
A protein with an apparent molecular mass of 38,000 daltons designated p38 was found in synaptic vesicles from rat brain. The subcellular distribution of p38 and some of its properties were determined with the aid of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies.

TURNOVER OF TRANSMITTER AND SYNAPTIC VESICLES AT THE FROG NEUROMUSCULAR JUNCTION
Curarized cutaneous pectoris nerve-muscle preparations from frogs were stimulated at 10/s or at 2/s for periods ranging from 20 min to 4 h. End plate potential were recorded intracellularly and used to estimate the quantity of transmitter secreted during

Rational Design of Inner Ear Drug Delivery Systems
Hearing loss is a common disease affecting many people, and inner ear lesions are one of the most important causes. This review focuses on the treatment of inner ear hearing loss by drug delivery systems. It includes the current methods and technologies developed, and it predicts possible directions.

ZnT-3, a putative transporter of zinc into synaptic vesicles.
The murine ZnT3 gene was cloned by virtue of its homology to the ZnT2 gene, which encodes a membrane protein that facilitates sequestration of zinc in endosomal vesicles.
