The chemotherapeutic 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU) is commonly used to treat solid tumors, especially colorectal cancer. Deleterious variants in DPYD, which encodes dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPD), are strongly associated with severe and potentially lethal 5‐FU toxicity.

Abstract Natural killer (NK) cell neoplasms span indolent to highly aggressive entities, and flow cytometric immunophenotyping is central to their detection and classification. However, distinguishing reactive from neoplastic NK cell expansions can be challenging because NK cells lack somatically recombined antigen receptors, and reactive states may ...

Abstract Background Integrin is an αβ heterodimeric receptor to the extracellular matrix; its binding to the matrix recruits focal adhesions to two NPxY motifs, the tyrosine phosphorylation sites in the cytoplasmic domain. Studies found that replacing tyrosines (Y) with phenylalanines (F) in the motif of β1 integrin displayed little developmental or ...

Genetic variants of EcPV2 E6 and E7 in equine genital and oronasal squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract Background Since its discovery in 2008, equine papillomavirus type 2 (EcPV2) has been detected in up to 100% of equine genital and up to 40% of equine oronasal squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). Preliminary sequence data point to the existence of EcPV2 E6 and E7 oncogene variants compared to the British reference sequence from 2008.

An adaptive mutation operator for particle swarm optimization [PDF]
Copyright @ 2008 MICParticle swarm optimization (PSO) is an effcient tool for optimization and search problems. However, it is easy to betrapped into local optima due to its in-formation sharing mechanism.

Infection mechanisms of Rhizoctonia cerealis in wheat
We discover that R. cerealis (Rc) is a primary pathogen causing sharp eyespot of wheat after 335 distinct isolates were isolated from 1683 SE‐diseased wheat plants across China over 7 years using a single hyphal tip isolation method. We then generated high‐quality reference genomes via de novo sequencing of five representative Rc isolates and ...
