Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Prevalence of effective contraceptive use among patients with rheumatic diseases: a descriptive study

open access: yesBMC Rheumatology
Objective Systemic autoimmune and chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases predominantly affect childbearing women. These women are at greater risk for pregnancy complications stemming from both the underlying disease and the treatments required to manage

Pituitary–Adrenal Axis and Peripheral Immune Cell Profile in Long COVID

open access: yesBiomedicines
In Long COVID, dysfunction in the pituitary–adrenal axis and alterations in immune cells and inflammatory status are warned against. We performed a prospective study in a cohort of 42 patients who suffered COVID-19 at least 6 months before attending the ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Unveiling biomarkers of telitacicept’s efficacy in SLE treatment through proteomics and metabolomics

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundThe pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is closely associated with abnormal activation of B lymphocytes. Telitacicept simultaneously blocks B-cell stimulating factors and proliferation-inducing ligands, thereby inhibiting B-cell ...

Nuclear receptor corepressor 1 represses cardiac hypertrophy

open access: yesEMBO Molecular Medicine, 2019
The function of nuclear receptor corepressor 1 (NCoR1) in cardiomyocytes is unclear, and its physiological and pathological implications are unknown. Here, we found that cardiomyocyte‐specific NCoR1 knockout (CMNKO) mice manifested cardiac hypertrophy at
