Alteration of Key Cytokine Levels by Aflatoxin B\u3csub\u3e1\u3c/sub\u3e and T-2 Toxin in Male CD-1 Mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Aflatoxin B1 and T-2 toxin are mycotoxins, which produce their immunotoxic effects by affecting nonspecific and acquired immunity in different species. The mechanisms of their immunotoxicity are still obscure.

Beyond digital twins: the role of foundation models in enhancing the interpretability of multiomics modalities in precision medicine

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review highlights how foundation models enhance predictive healthcare by integrating advanced digital twin modeling with multiomics and biomedical data. This approach supports disease management, risk assessment, and personalized medicine, with the goal of optimizing health outcomes through adaptive, interpretable digital simulations, accessible ...

Adenosine A3 receptor antagonists as anti‐tumor treatment in human prostate cancer: an in vitro study

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The A3 adenosine receptors (A3ARs) are overexpressed in prostate cancer. AR 292 and AR 357, as A3AR antagonists, are capable of blocking proliferation, modulating the expression of drug transporter genes involved in chemoresistance, ferroptosis, and the hypoxia response, and inducing cell death.

Soman induces endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis of cerebral organoids via the GRP78‐ATF6‐CHOP signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids were employed as a novel model to explore the neurotoxicity of soman. Soman inhibited acetylcholinesterase activity, increased cell apoptosis and upregulated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress markers glucose‐regulated protein 78 (GRP78), activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP).

T-2 toxin-induced testicular impairment by triggering oxidative stress and ferroptosis

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
T-2 toxin is a trichothecene mycotoxin of significant danger to humans and animals. Its impact on reproductive toxicity is attributed to oxidative stress, which ultimately leads to cell death.

The Role of Homeostatic Imbalance in the Reported Immunomodulation of T-2 Toxin [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
T-2 toxin (T-2), produced by the genus Fusarium, is a cytotoxic trichothecene mycotoxin, a feed contaminant, and has been shown to be immunomodulatory.
