The classical cosmological constant of open-closed string field theory
We consider deformations of D-brane systems induced by a change in the closed string background in the framework of bosonic open-closed string field theory, where it is possible to unambiguously tame infrared divergences originating from both open and ...

This paper shows anthropic principle’s predicting symmetric distribution matter strata, their physics laws, and verifications, concretely deduces characteristic time, energy, and temperature expressions at different scales, discovers four interesting invariant quantities, shows homeomorphic theorem of space map, and naturally presents a supersymmetric ...

On non-homogeneous tachyon condensation in closed string theory
Lorentzian continuation of the Sine-Liouville model describes non-homogeneous rolling closed string tachyon. Via T-duality, this relates to the gauged H + 3 Wess-Zumino-Witten model at subcritical level. This model is exactly solvable.

A review is given of hypothetical faster‐than‐light tachyons and the development of the author’s 3 + 3 model of the neutrino mass states, which includes one tachyonic mass state doublet. Published empirical evidence for the model is summarized, including an interpretation of the mysterious Mont Blanc neutrino burst from SN 1987A as being due to ...

Self‐Dual Effective Compact and True Compacton Configurations in Generalized Abelian Higgs Models
We have studied the existence of self‐dual effective compact and true compacton configurations in Abelian Higgs models with generalized dynamics. We have named an effective compact solution the one whose profile behavior is very similar to the one of a compacton structure but still preserves a tail in its asymptotic decay.

Absorption Cross Section and Decay Rate of Dilatonic Black Strings
We studied in detail the propagation of a massive tachyonic scalar field in the background of a five‐dimensional (5D) Einstein–Yang–Mills–Born–Infeld–dilaton black string: the massive Klein–Gordon equation was solved, exactly. Next we obtained complete analytical expressions for the greybody factor, absorption cross section, and decay rate for the ...

Analogue tachyons in SNAIL transmission lines
Tachyons are hypothetical particles with imaginary mass that travel faster than light. However, methods to experimentally verify whether tachyons exist are lacking.

Backreaction in closed string tachyon condensation [PDF]
We consider backreaction due to production of massless strings in the background of a condensing closed string tachyon. Working in the region of weak tachyon, we find the modified equations of motion for massless strings with conformal perturbation theory.

Abstract String theory has strong implications for cosmology, implying the absence of a cosmological constant, ruling out single‐field slow‐roll inflation, and that black holes decay. The origins of these statements are elucidated within the string‐theoretical swampland programme.
