Potentiation of the Antidepressant-Like Effect of Fluoxetine by Aripiprazole in the Mouse Tail Suspension Test

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
We examined the effect of the novel atypical antipsychotic drug aripiprazole alone or in combination with the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor fluoxetine in the mouse tail suspension test.

Individual differences in response to imipramine in the mouse tail suspension test

open access: yesPsychopharmacology, 1997
The tail suspension test is a behavioural primary screen for detecting potential antidepressant drugs. In this test, a reduction of duration of immobility after treatment with imipramine is obtained in mice of the NMRI strain but not of the CD1 strain.

Synthesis and anti-depressant evaluation of novel pyrazolone derivatives

open access: yesBangladesh Journal of Pharmacology, 2016
Diazotization of substituted anilines with NaNO2 and concentrated hydrochloric acid at 0ºC gave the diazonium chlorides. Coupling of substituted aryl diazonium chlorides with ethyl acetoacetate in methanol gave ethyl-2-aryl-hydrazono-3-oxobutyrates (2a-h)

The tail suspension test. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Vis Exp, 2012
The tail-suspension test is a mouse behavioral test useful in the screening of potential antidepressant drugs, and assessing of other manipulations that are expected to affect depression related behaviors. Mice are suspended by their tails with tape, in such a position that it cannot escape or hold on to nearby surfaces. During this test, typically six

Antidepressant-like activity of flunarizine in modified tail suspension test in rats. [PDF]

open access: yesN Am J Med Sci, 2015
Flunarizine, a Ca(2+) channel blocker, crosses blood brain barrier (BBB), antagonizes calcium influx and interferes with neurotransmitter system. Flunarizine 20 mg/kg exhibited significant antidepressant activity in our previous study using forced swim test (FST) in mice, which was contradictory to the findings of other authors.

Aeroacoustic analysis of main rotor and tail rotor interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The increased restrictions placed on helicopter noise levels over recent decades have encouraged manufacturers to better understand tail rotor noise and its aerodynamic sources.

Pharmacogenomic Evaluation of the Antidepressant Citalopram in the Mouse Tail Suspension Test [PDF]

open access: yesNeuropsychopharmacology, 2006
The identification of genetic variants regulating antidepressant response in human patients would allow for more individualized, rational, and successful drug treatments. We have previously identified the BALB/cJ inbred mouse strain as highly responsive to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) citalopram in the tail suspension test (TST), a
