Unveiling the complexity of vaccine hesitancy: A narrative review focusing on dengue vaccination

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics
Dengue vaccines face significant challenges, including safety concerns, which contribute to vaccine hesitancy. Addressing this complex issue requires targeted strategies to overcome existing barriers.

Immunological signatures unveiled by integrative systems vaccinology characterization of dengue vaccination trials and natural infection [PDF]

open access: yes
Introduction: Dengue virus infection is a global health problem lacking specific therapy, requiring an improved understanding of DENV immunity and vaccine responses. Considering the recent emerging of new dengue vaccines, here we performed an integrative

Fe2+‐ Induced Activation of Single and Dual Metal Site—Lattice Oxygen Mechanism in Fe Rich NiFe‐LDHs for Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe‐rich NiFe‐LDH catalysts derived from MOFs, showing superior OER activity via lattice oxygen mechanism activation. ABSTRACT Developing a durable and efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyst without noble metals is essential for the economical and sustainable production of hydrogen by alkaline water electrolysis.

Symmetry in a multi-strain epidemiological model with distributed delay as a general cross-protection period and disease enhancement factor [PDF]

open access: yes
Important biological features of viral infectious diseases caused by multiple agents with interacting strain dynamics continue to pose challenges for mathematical modelling development. Motivated by dengue fever epidemiology, we study a system of Integro-

In Vivo CRISPR Screening Identifies the Glutamate Receptor GRIA2 as Promoting Peritoneal Metastasis of Gastric Cancer via Calcium‐Dependent β‐Catenin Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified GRIA2 as a critical driver of gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis through in vivo CRISPR screening. Mechanistically, GRIA2‐mediated calcium influx inhibits GSK3β and activates Wnt/β‐catenin signaling, driven by glutamate from cancer‐associated fibroblasts.

Mature dengue virus particles inactivated by a non-ionic detergent retain quaternary neutralizing epitopes and induce potent neutralizing antibodies [PDF]

open access: yes
Introduction: The four serotypes of dengue virus (DENV1-4) are the leading cause of arboviral diseases in humans. Currently, developing a safe and effective DENV vaccine remains a challenge.

Methylglyoxal Accumulation is Associated with Brain Inflammation after Myocardial Infarction with Sex and Regional Differences

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies that methylglyoxal may play an important role in heart‐brain interactions after myocardial infarction. Myocardial infarction leads to increased levels of methylglyoxal‐derived advanced glycation end‐products (MG‐H1) in the brain of mice, which is associated with loss of blood‐brain barrier integrity and neuroinflammation ...

S100A14 in Tumor‐Derived EVs Targets PIAS3 to Reprogram Astrocytes and Induce Immunosuppressive Microenvironment Promoting Brain Metastasis and Germacrone Reversal Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies S100A14 in tumor‐derived exosomes as a key driver of brain metastasis. S100A14 targets PIAS3 in astrocytes, activating STAT3 signaling and promoting immunosuppressive MDSCs recruitment via chemokine secretion. Germacrone, a natural compound, binds S100A14 to disrupt this axis, effectively inhibiting brain metastasis with low ...

Dengue dynamics: A holistic predictive model considering epidemic, vaccination, and environmental factors

open access: yesGlobal Public Health
This research applied a predictive model to analyse the role that vaccination and community factors play in controlling the dengue virus. The study considers epidemiological and environmental data from the city of São Paulo (Brazil) after the start of ...
