Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Genome-wide high-resolution mapping of UV-induced mitotic recombination events in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and most other eukaryotes, mitotic recombination is important for the repair of double-stranded DNA breaks (DSBs). Mitotic recombination between homologous chromosomes can result in loss of heterozygosity (LOH).

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

The Influence of (5′R)- and (5′S)-5′,8-Cyclo-2′-Deoxyadenosine on UDG and hAPE1 Activity. Tandem Lesions are the Base Excision Repair System’s Nightmare

open access: yesCells, 2019
DNA lesions are formed continuously in each living cell as a result of environmental factors, ionisation radiation, metabolic processes, etc. Most lesions are removed from the genome by the base excision repair system (BER).

Molecular epidemiology of Mycobacterium bovis in Cameroon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We describe the largest molecular epidemiological study of Bovine Tuberculosis (bTB) in a sub-Saharan African country with higher spatial resolution providing new insights into bTB. Four hundred and ninety-nine samples were collected for culture from 201

Insights Into the Antigenic Repertoire of Unclassified Synaptic Antibodies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective We sought to characterize the sixth most common finding in our neuroimmunological laboratory practice (tissue assay‐observed unclassified neural antibodies [UNAs]), combining protein microarray and phage immunoprecipitation sequencing (PhIP‐Seq). Methods Patient specimens (258; 133 serums; 125 CSF) meeting UNA criteria were profiled;

Inter- and intra-observer variability in the qualitative categorization of coronary angiograms. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The ABC classification of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association is a commonly used categorization to estimate the risk and success of intracoronary intervention, as well as the probability of restenosis.

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Arabidopsis RecQl4A suppresses homologous recombination and modulates DNA damage responses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The DNA damage response and DNA recombination are two interrelated mechanisms involved in maintaining the integrity of the genome, but in plants they are poorly understood.
