Investigation of Differential Evolution Algorithm for a Tandem Cascade Optimization

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2019
Due to the fact that there are numerous factors and parameters associated to tandem cascade, and upstream and downstream blades have intensive interference and unknown matching correlation, it is difficult to create tandem blades with high performance ...

Diverse Proton-Conducting Nanotubes via a Tandem Macrocyclization and Assembly Strategy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2021
Macrocycles that assemble into nanotubes exhibit emergent properties stemming from their low dimensionality, structural regularity, and distinct interior environments. We report a versatile strategy to synthesize diverse nanotube structures in a single, efficient reaction by using a conserved building block bearing a pyridine ring.

Strategy instruction for successful language tandems [PDF]

open access: yesELT Journal, 2019
AbstractEducational institutions are placing increased value on language tandems owing to the language development opportunities they offer for learners of modern languages. Where these learners lack autonomous language learning strategies, however, the results can be disappointing, with limited linguistic development taking place.

A Chemoenzymatic Strategy toward Understanding O-GlcNAc Glycosylation in the Brain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Posttranslational modification to proteins represents a fundamental mechanism by which protein function is extended and elaborated. In the brain, modifications such as phosphorylation play critical roles in mediating neuronal communication and ...

Delayed reperfusion therapy for ischemic stroke tandem occlusion with subsequent secondary prophylaxis of cerebral ischemic events: A case report and literature review

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2021
Mechanical thrombectomy is currently the gold standard treatment of large vessel occlusions, especially in anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke. At the same time, the problem of tandem occlusions seems especially important since most of the major ...

Tandem electrocatalytic N2 fixation via concerted proton-electron transfer

open access: yes, 2021
New electrochemical ammonia (NH3) synthesis technologies are of interest as a complementary route to the Haber-Bosch (HB) process for distributed fertilizer generation, and towards exploiting ammonia as a zero-carbon fuel produced via renewably-sourced ...

Comparative Analysis of Click Chemistry Mediated Activity-Based Protein Profiling in Cell Lysates

open access: yesMolecules, 2013
Activity-based protein profiling uses chemical probes that covalently attach to active enzyme targets. Probes with conventional tags have disadvantages, such as limited cell permeability or steric hindrance around the reactive group.

Markovian Analysis of Coordination Strategies in Tandem Polling Queues with Setups

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
We analyze a network of tandem polling queues with two stations operating under synchronized polling (SP) and out-of-sync polling (OP) strategies, and with nonzero setups. We conduct an exact analysis using a decomposition approach to compare the performance in terms of throughput and mean waiting times to investigate when one strategy might be ...

Silver-Catalyzed Tandem Cyclization for Syntheses of Azaoxa- and Diazaspirocycles

open access: yes, 2022
1-Azaspirocycles are important structures present in many drugs and natural products. This paper describes the silver-catalyzed tandem cyclization strategy, which provides atom-economical access to various azaoxa- and diazaspirocycles from alkynes ...

Tandem fusion of hepatitis B core antigen allows assembly of virus-like particles in bacteria and plants with enhanced capacity to accommodate foreign proteins.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The core protein of the hepatitis B virus, HBcAg, assembles into highly immunogenic virus-like particles (HBc VLPs) when expressed in a variety of heterologous systems.
